About company

Joint Stock Company "Fanplit" - one of the oldest enterprises in Kyiv. In 2008 "Fanplit" will celebrate 100th anniversary.
In 1908 brothers Gebel, members of Sugar Joint Stock Company decided to build the plywood production plant on the left bank of the river Dnieper near Kyiv. The plant was set in operation in December 1909. There were 2 veneer-cutting lathes with manual drive, gluing press (1300x1300) with 15 openings, 3 steam-boilers and a steam-engine. Mainly production of the plant was intended for sugar packing, and also for manufacture of "containers". Plywood was produced by wet hot method, using albuminous glues.
Plywood output made up 5000 m3 per year; and there were about 500 workers at the plant. In 1939 plywood output made up 21735 m3.
On 1940 the general amount of workers made up 758 persons, industrial personnel among them - 648 persons. Almost 50 % of made products were exported.
